The front garden of a house near Edinburgh, designed to set off a grand piece of modern statuary (now moved). The front area had originally followed the slope of the ground, so the front windows faced into the slope. We created a level terrace, with steps to parts of the property on the higher ground, steps down to the walled garden, retaining walls and so on. Paths are of reclaimed cobblestones. The planting scheme (not shown) was in white, blue, violet and sharp yellow. The walled garden, originally sloping, and which could easily have been left so, was terraced. It's shown here with the box hedging newly planted, and protected with netting.

The terrace was created using a mini-bulldozer; paths are of recycled cobblestones. The statue is by the late Elizabeth Frink, and is now no longer at this site.

The walled garden was also terraced (against my better judgement) and here new box hedges reacclimatise beneath shade netting.
